At last, I've gotten a nice JS6! (Thanks to Mr. David Ho!) *I've been wanting another fixed bridge axe since getting rid of my PGM90 and PGM500, and the JS6 is definitely "the one". *The
mahogany body
alone makes all the difference-TONE! *Great sustain too. *It's got a few dings up and down the neck, but I'd planned on sanding the finish off of the neck anyway. *I'm sure a few of them will smooth out a bit. *Nothing that bothersome though. *I'd say that next to the
Crystal Planet
, this is probably one of the best playing JS models I've had. *Cool guitar! *I've got to say, it is currently the best guitar that I've received today! *

Phew! *Thank G*d! *The guilt at having bought the JS6 that was mislabeled on eBay a few months back was killing me. *I know that Chris was the one that was originally haggling with the seller, and I actually felt bad about it. *On the other hand, I remember those pics of his collection that occasionally pop up around here, so I didn't feel *too* bad! *
*Chris, I'm glad you like your JS6. *
J

LOL *My paltry collection? *Nah...it's just a few "toys" here and there. *
No tuning problems on this JS6, but I would like to get some of the Gotoh Magnum
locking tuners
for it. *Anybody know who carries them? *I've tried Warmoth, StewMac & Luthier's Mercantile...no go at any of those places.

Chris,
A friend of mine was able to rustle up a set of Gotoh Magnums for me for another guitar and I ended up putting them on my JS6. *They've worked out very well. *I have been searching high and low for another set to no avail. *I've tried looking for the number to call Gotoh directly but haven't found it yet and they apparently have no website (
www.gotoh.com
is some Japanese guy's homepage). *If you end up finding a source, please let me know. *I'll do the same. *Note that according to Musicyo, these come stock on some of their Kramers. *Maybe call them?
J *

There's a store up here that carries Gotoh Magnum Lock tuners... in fact, they recommended them to me over Sperzels... apparently there's less play on the posts than on Sperzels.
Check them out at
http://www.12fret.com
... they may ship to the USA.

Oh, and you guys are making me jealous. I want a JS6/6000, and managed to completely miss David Ho's for sale.
I'll just take a number and have a seat over there... don't forget to poke me when my number's up!

What's the going rate on a JS 6/6000? I looked on Ebay and saw one went for 599 with Buy It Now, but that may only mean that the seller listed it way too cheap and someone jumped jumped on a bargain. I also saw one on the net for $1200!!! That seemed a bit much...

Yeah, that's cheap. *I think $7-800 is more usual, depending on age & condition.
