Re: My JS White Project...

Ok, Im starting to freak out now and get very picky about screws and other smaller parts that i didnt think were going to bother me....

One thing that was really getting to me was the Korean back plate of the JS100. The screw middle holes are in the wrong spot and its not slotted. This might seem like nothing to you, but all the jap spec back covers have this 1 offset screw on one side of the cover. I took the one off my 540R and compared them... Same dimentions at 138mm by 83mm. So a Jap one will fit.

Soooo.... I picked up this new genuine new Japanese slotted rear trem cavity cover. Now i have that damn one screw in its correct position for a JS1000WH. Now i will be able to sleep...

Note Cheap Korean cover with screw in the wrong spot....

New Japanese Slotted rear cover with the offset middle screws..Ahhhhh

Re: My JS White Project...

Just drill a new hole. It may not be 100% authentic, but you should get yourself a set of the sweet black anodized brushed aluminum covers.

Also, where did you find that neoprene matting for the bottom of the trem cavity?

Also, while I'm picking nits, you should send the neck to ET and have them drill out the silver dot markers and replace them with abalone.

Awesome work, though! I love projects like this and this is the type of attention to detail that I appreciate.

Can't wait to see it! Been following your project for a while, in fact it's kind of a reference for the one I am starting.

Re: My JS White Project...

Trem post fitting...

Ive been dreading this part of the job. Ernie from ET had drilled out the post holes to the correct 11mm for fitting the japanese EDGE trem locking post inserts. The crud Korean JS100 brass ones are 10mm OD.

So i screwed in an 8mm bolt to hammer on and flogged them in flush with the hammer. They were quite firm . All went well and my anxiety went away....
