My New JS project guitar... a little closer...even closer

This ia a JS700 I'm putting together...
The neck is from a 15 year old Roadstar series that has the same feel
and specs as my JS1 neck. The only difference the larger frets and flatter radius fingerboard. THe back of the neck and profile feel almost identical.

I went so far as to measure it against the JS neck specs.

I'm considering having the board redone(raidus) and having it refretted with 6105 frets.
All the hardware is on it's way and I'm trying to decide on Pup's....

SD soapbars or maybe someone could suggest something....
thanks for lookin'

Just picked up the Frailin P90's (10%underneck 5%overbridge), all the hardware is in.....just waitin on the mailman

Look ma NO inlay....

It only has the high nd low E srtings on it at the moment so I could line up the neck in the pocket just right....
The bolt pattern on the heel had to be redrilled so I used the dowel method and line it up ,drilled and what you see is the finished product.
The bridge is a wilkinson by GOTOH just like the one satch is holding
in the catalog and the ads for the 700....not the production 700's.

Once I have it wired I'll let you know how it sounds...her name is Red...... BTW

Making me wish I never sold my JS700, but it looks great! I'd love to have another one, but refinished in blue! Good luck on picking pickups

I never liked the neck that the 700 series came with. Which is why I love puttin' stuff together to get exactly what I have in mind.

I had planned on stripping the finish and doing a natural tung oil mahogany like my long lost JS6....but when I open the box I thought
this is in such great shape Im not touching the original finish.

Are the Lindy Failin P90's any good?

QUite good although if I were you I would get dimarzio P-100's. Dimarzio has a good exchange policy by the way so if you dont like me trade me in. THe best of both worlds

Is it just me, or does that mahogany look like it's got some diagonal flame figuring?

Sweet! Is that an original JS700 body or was it custom-made?
