Need info about neck JS..... - Can you help me ???

Hi guys,

I really like the feel from the neck of my JS10 :-)
To this day I've been trying to find the similar feel on other guitar's neck but so far haven't found it so I'm thinking of making a project guitar where the neck were create like this.

Anybody ( Rich too ) can tell me what finish did Ibanez use to create those smooth and speedy feel ?

Is it what people usually call with satin finish or oil finish ?

Based from what guitars did Joe copy the neck for his Ibanez JS series ?

AFAIK the finish is satin Polyester. The shape is just modified Strat for the most part, but tweaked the way Joe wanted it. Same neck is on a 90th or 1000.

I'd luv to find a JS neck in a 24 fret version. Or something that feels similar to it...with 24 frets. I feel that 22 isn't enough, 24 should be enough though.

Is there a different between a satin polyester and clear satin ?

A good luthier would be able to trim off the fretboard at about the 20th fret or so and glue on an "extension" that would overhang the end of the fretboard. You'd have to reposition or remove your neck pickup, though.
