Need some help with the value of a JS100

Hello all, I am new to the jemsite community and need some help figuring out what a JS100 I own is worth.

It's a JS100, Translucent red finish, chrome hardware, typical JS100, but it's autographed by the man himself, on the upper rear part of the body in a nice silver (looks like a paint pen) ink. On the back, it has his name, Joe Satriani and the date he autographed the guitar. I also have the backstage pass from the show he autographed it at. I can supply some pics later tonight, as I don't have any digital pictures of it yet.

I am curious as to what it is worth, as I cannot play it due to it being autographed (i don't want to rub off the autograph) and am interested in trading it for another ibanez that i can play =)

Its worth $400, the sig dont make it play or sound better Always look on **** to get ah ballpark price. Im guessing because of the sig is why you asked? For me its just ink.

Yeah, to most people, autographs on guitars are meaningless and don't increase the value of the guitar. To you, the autograph holds a special meaning, you were probably there when it was signed. To me, it doesn't.

I'd have to say the only way an autograph could increase the value of a guitar is if its a rare guitar, like a Donnie or PIA or a DNA. B)

Thanks for the responses =) I never thought of it that way Well, I went ahead and posted it on the classifieds, as we are expecting a new baby soon and I want a 7 string pretty bad, so i need to sell the JS as I don't play it, and frankly don't really like the way the neck feels and plays.

personally... I would keep it and put a clear coat over the spot where Joe signed so it won't rub off.
