New Guitar Day - Ibanez JS1600 Premium Silver

My entry to the JS forum is a new JS1600 and still being in the honeymoon phase with it. I took a gamble with not having played a JS before but doing all the research on the specs with the neck I went ahead and got one.

The neck feels like a thinner version of my Strat Deluxe QMT with both having the same width, radius, and scale length. The sustain on this JS is incredible and can give tones for nice mellow jazz to harder stuff. I rarely use a wammy so it is not missed and like the individual adjustable saddles making it easy to match fretboard radius. All in all it is a very nice guitar. The only non factory thing I have done with it is add a little nut lube. Here are some pics of it with my Strat.

They are ear plugs actually. I use the to dampen string vibration beyond the nut. I am trying them in the springs of my strat for spring damping too. They do work.

Very nice Cosmic

Do the ear plugs help on your strat with the strings moving over the nut when you use the trem?

If only the JS1600 had a matching or black head stock ...

Doesn't make any difference with strings moving just excess vibration. I use them in my trem springs also to cut down on spring noise.

Re: New Guitar Day - Ibanez JS1600 Premium Silver

Nice man, once the honeymoon phase is over type up a review, I'm considering this or maybe a 1200CA (along with- incidentally enough- a strat).

As for the earplugs, I used to dampen my trem springs with cotton pads, but I found it REALLY cut down the tone transfer from the bridge to the body, and the guitar became rather dead, so I'll trade spring noise when whammying for tone any day.
