New JS build

Ok been slacking over the summer, so deceided it time for another build. Loving the JS body shape recently so thought I'd give it a go. This is my first body from scratch - found a slab of mahogany on the bay £17, thought it was a bit of a bargin. The guy said it was cheap because it was small? but was big enough for a jem

Bit of router work later

Then tried the angle grinder & some sandpaper to rough out the contours

Plenty more sanding to do

Re: New JS build

I've always thought this would be a great color for a JS. It's Fender's Bright sapphire metallic.

Yeh Al, bought a sanding disk for the angle grinder yesterday - carves wood real fast!
Remember... don't fear the router.

went for an all access neck joint, why have to put up with a JS slab joint if you don't have to?

Nothing beats a home-brewed AANJ Joe Satriani Copy. ;-)

Re: New JS build

I always liked the JS models but I hated the neck joint. I think I would die for a JS with AANJ.

Re: New JS build

The neck joint isn't as bad as people make it out to be.

Not bad Andy, I would say paint it sky blue, like this:
