New JS Model Info - JS-2000CG

Yep, that's the title. *I don't remember the list price because I'm still preoccupied about the new JEM. *The CG is for Champagne Gold. *It features a new FX-Edge bridge which was described on my info sheet as a double-locking fixed-bridge tremolo. *I don't know what that's all about. *Maybe the description is bad because that's an oxymoron. *The one street price I've seen so far is $1119.99 U.S.
I wish I had more detailed information than that, but that's all I've got. *There was nothing on my information sheet that was labeled confidential and NAMM is only about two weeks away so I figured I'd share.

Thanks for the info! I'd be curious to know the point of a double locking fixed bridge....TBD, I guess.

Hey, it looks like the "Goldboy" joke that was made earlier on may not be so far off. Cool!

I can't help to speculate, but with a higher model number...2000, what are they going to do with the 1000 models? Kinda wonder if they're going o do the same thing that they did with the JS1.

I tried to get them to do the JS Millenium model as a *real* *JS2 reissue with the model # JS2000

The limited amount I understand this I'll try and explain. The bridge is like a center section of a Lo Pro (saddles, fine tuners, etc.) mounted on what looks like a Gibson tailpiece. I think I remember locking nut but not positive. Suposedly this is the most requested mod by artists from the Custom Shop. BTW it has Chrome hardware :biggrin:

Rich, what do you mean about getting them to do a real reissue? They already put out a crappy Chromeboy line with the JS10. Do you mean with real quality control this time?

They should've left the JS10 prototypes in the corner, instead of distributing 500 (or so) of them to the consumers!

it is a 6-string, right? Now that Joe's experimenting with the low B, I'm expecting a 7-string soon

<KOOL-AID MAN>
OH YEAH!!!!
</KOOL-AID MAN>

Fixed bridge gold JS sounds great!!!

I don't really understand why you'd want all the hassle of a double locking system without a trem, but what do I know? *Should provide the ultimate in tuning stability though. *Reminds me of those Schaller stud-mount bridges with the fine tuners, but with locking saddles too.

They shouldn't need to mess with the model numbering of the 1000...they had a 6000 before...

A new Jem and a new JS?? *Should be a great year for the Ibanez fan!
