New Js1000 help

Hey Im just a newbie to this place. Just got a brand new btb JS1000 (2002 model). Thing is the shop did a set up and the action is pretty good and they fitted power slinkys 4 me, but the trem is very tight and i cant get a very good range with it (just about a minor3rd). Ive been looking 4ward to whammying like satch but cant. Is there an easy way to sort this and keep the same action? The shop is abroad so I cant go back. Ive tried Rich's site but I dont think it clearly explians how to do this.

Also, do any of u guys think that the thick guage strings are a lot harder to get pinched harmonics. Thinking of goin down to super slinkys for this baby!! Cheers

Any JS setup should have included a neck shim so you can get at least a perfect 4th in pullup. It's in the Used Guitar Primer, but it'll need to be resetup again after.

I think I'm going to shim my JS1000 neck...I can get a major 3rd pullup on the G, but I wanna get that extra semitone!
