New JS1200CA, filler paste at 12th fret markers!!!
I cant believe it, opened the box, brand new from the UK importer, seems perfect in every area other than the 12th
fret markers
, one has filler over part of the actual inlay, the other has filler at the top egde of the hole for the inlay. Damn it Ibanez, cant get you this right?! Its not a lot but just enough to take the pleasure of handling a new guitar away.

I've had this happen many times with gibson and rosetti, the only thing worth doing I've found is to send it back and say you want another. Sometimes it'll take three or four before a perfect one comes your way but its worth it.

Re: New JS1200CA, filler paste at 12th fret markers!!!
How bad has it been on your Gibson / Rosetti guitars? Noticable straight away or did you have to look for it, if you know what I mean?! Taking a 2nd look at the JS1200, in brighter daylight, it looks like the dark 'filler' might actually be either glue or resin thats used to fit the dots and has somehow soaked into the pours of the rosewood, I'll get some pics taken.

So, why the crying about it? Take it back to the store and tell them to get you another one if it bothers you that much. the longer you keep it, the worse it'll be for you in the long run.

Ha! I'm p*ssed off becase I waited 2 weeks for it to arrive, and now the replacement will take another god knows how long, I have to use mail order as there are no shops anywhere near me that carry stock and offer a reasonable price.

Some of the stuff thats come from gibson's own
custom shop
to me has been shockingly bad, you do wonder how they let ovious flaws leave the factory.
The only thing i'll say is some people can put up with cosmetic flaws, but in my opinion, unless im getting a discount I'll wait the extra time and get exactly what I paid for, you wont regret having a perfect guitar, you may if you leave it when its got flaws.

Well, when you spend money like that on a guitar and the quality is not what it should be, returning it should be the first priority as opposed to coming in here and writing about it. It's like I said earlier, if it bothers you that much, return it and put up with the waiting time.
Personally, if I had to wait to get another guitar, I would do it as many times as it took because I would know that I would be getting a guitar that I would be happy with.

If we dont write about our experiences then people might have the wrong impression that all
Ibanez guitars
are perfect.

I have no idea whether that is the glue used for the inlays or not, but that just has to be returned if cant be wiped off..GAK are normally pretty reasonable, give em a buzz
