Thank you Rich, you are truly a gentleman and a scholar. *Do you prefer the tone of the basswood or the luthite? *I guess the question for me now is, if you had your choice, which would you rather have? *And do they both have Lo-Pro Edges, or original Edges?

The originals has Edges so of course the reissues do also. Hmmm, wood, or some man made material.... I'll have to side with Joe on this issue, WOOD!

I did a little recording with the JS10 this last week for the first time. The tone is incredible. It really has an incredible punch to it and allows itself to be EQ'd in many ways without making it lose its "natural" feel.
As for the "man made thing" *
"MAN" has been out of the good kiln dried wood for a long time and has resorted to wood that is microwave dried instead. So if you think of it in THAT way.....its all man made in some way or another!! *
I used the JS6 to record another idea and I love that tone as well. It has a "smoother" "cleaner" tone than the JS10 and the JS1000.
In my opinion for recording the JS10 sounds more like a JEM7VWH (which is what I am most used to playing) than the JS1000 and the JS6. *The JS6 sounds more like a really nice Strat and can sound more like a Strat when the coils are split than the JS1000 and te JS10.
I love all the tones though and have found uses for all of them.
If you want to hear the tone of the guitars I used for the song ideas click the links below. Both songs are my first experiment in the "techno" *"ambient" field. (Obviously a little inspiration from the "Engines of Creation" album).
The JS6: *
"The Blue Nile"
The JS10: *
"Drop to Eternity"

Rich - His sisters actually painted the guitar bodies? I thought they just designed it.
Rikk - I like the 10th tone very much. It does sound kind of like a 7VWH.
I gotta get some quality recordings of my 7VWH somehow.
The JS6 tone is very warm. I do like them both.
I am sensing that you are picking up on the Satch techno kind of direction eh?

Sort of. I like recording different styles. I was recently hired to write and record 9 songs for a play. Its an exciting challenge. So far I have written and recorded:
2 rock songs
1 Latin song
1 Jazz song
1 piano ballad
1 acoustic rock ballad
and 1 symphony piece for the play.
Talk about a play that will have a diverse music selection!!
I got the Acid Loops 3.0 Pro program and got hooked on some of the Techno loops in there and thought it would be cool to write some tunes that way. I wil probably do an album with the techno stuff but it wont be my main style or anything. Just something fun to do.
Its allot of fun having a 32 track recording studio at your disposal!! lol Actually with the mony from this play I upgraded the studio a little. You can see some pics of it at:
