Just wondering what some of you have your pickup heights set at for the
Paf Pro and Fred pickups.
I was using the
gibson factory spec measurements but at 3/32 the Paf Pro sounded very muddy. The Fred didn't sound bad at 1/16.
Tonight I raised the Paf Pro up to just under 1/16 and it pretty much came to life. I've been trying to tweak the Fred to match volume but haven't been too successful without making Fred pretty shrill.
I measure by pressing the string against the last fret on the neck and measure the space between the bottom of the E strings and the top of the pole piece that the string is over.
