Pickups for a js100

Hey i just picked up a 2003Js100 this weekend to keep my 2170se company ha. I really love the guitar, the round body is insane. The only mod to it that i can see is i think it has a Lo Pro II trem which is one of my favorite floating trems.

Any way the worst part about it is that pickups. They dont sound "Bad" just cheap i guess. I am looking for suggestions on a good combo for my JS.

I play alot of dream theater type stuff. I am heavily influenced by Santana, Satch, Petrucci, and Lukather. I would like something i can shred on it and will have alot of harmonics but at the same time be able to play sweeter and cleaner riffs as well. My rig at the moment is a Mesa Stiletto Deuce stage two with a orange 1 by 12 and a mesa rectifier 2 by 12 cab. My board contains a Tech 21 reverb, Ibanez Cs 9, Ibanez Ts 9, and a modded wah. So help me out. Thanx.

A Mo'Joe in the bridge would be a great start. Nice pickup, very harmonic responsive with a nice growl. I replaced the stock Fred in my JS-1 with a Mo'Joe and have no complaints.

I like the breeds I have in my JS-100. They have a classic crunch.

How do you like the JS100 in comparison to the 2170? I wouldn't mind having one of both myself.

Good model year - that Edge Pro II trem replaced the LO-TRS II in 2003, so that bridge is stock. The easy answer to your Q would be a PAF Pro or PAF Joe in the neck and F-spaced Fred in the bridge, which would give you most of a JS1000/1200 minus the prestige neck, high-pass filter, Edge Pro and matching headstock.

+1 The Breeds would sound great in a JS. Whatever you do just stay away from a bright pickup like the Evolution. It had ear piercing highs when I had one in mine.
