Probably old news but I just tried out a JS2000

I think it is more than uncanny that this guitar was hanging right next to a JEM90 in the store, which I have one of. Because they would be the perfect complement for each other! Even the peavey amp I had to test through could not diminish this guitar.
I spent a lot of time playing with the knobs as there is lot said about relying on them to change the tone. I loved the FRED pickup but was underwhelmed by the PAF. To my ears they don't complement each other very well. My favourite clean sound was in the split position. Fuller and richer than you would expect with the perfect amount of brightness.
The FRED was just about everything I expected in terms tweaking character out of each note by changing your pick and attack. It was fairly effortless but I imagine would have been astounding on a decent amp (I use a Mesa Calibre 50).
Loved the fixed bridge, loved the finish. This is a beautiful and amazingly playable guitar. I think I have already made up my mind to buy in the next few months...

I would encourage you to do so as I have had nothing but great luck with mine. The extra hassles of initially tuning are more than offset by the incredible tuning stability of the Edge FX. The PAF Pro is a very cool pickup with a dynamically responsive amp and is one of my faves for a bluesy lead tone with the volume backed off just a tad. Mine has a real resonant body-the most of all my guitars, and it has become my favorite all-around instrument. Money well spent I would say! Z
