Problems with new Edge II loaded JS-100

I cannot seem to get my 2003 JS-100 with the new Edge II locking trem to stay in tune - even through regular playing & it is driving me nuts!!!! I had an old S470 with a Lo-TRS II that NEVER went out of tune....not even under severe abuse - anyone know what the heck is going on & what I can do to remedy the problem & don't tell me to buy a BTB or a 1200 or a 1000 or whatever, I quite like my 100 but this problem is totally wrecking my head.....

First, make sure that the tremolo angle is setup properly. On that specific trem, the bridge should completely parallel to the body. After you have checked that make sure you strech your strings. That usually solves all tuning stability problems. ALso, look for obvious things as well, make sure the nut is not loose. You can find alot of information at www.ibanezrules.com.

No matter what, you will never get 100% tuning stability on a floating trem. You can get real close that you wont notice. Ask Rich, he knows everything there is to know about guitars.

I've got the same JS100/trem...I've been tinkering with it a whole bunch for the 3 months I've owned it...plus this is my 1st "floater"...don't do what I did & take all the strings off at the same time, which is what I did as soon as I got home with the guitar...I almost cried when I put the new strings on & discovered the mess I had...but this was "BIR", which means before I read IbanezRules

Dr. Mindcrime is right... stretch the strings then get the trem angle as level as you can...secondly, get a Q-tip, smear a big glob of Chapstick on it, then smear it all around the posts that raise/lower the bridge...work the trem up & down while you're doing this - get the Chapstick down in there...maybe it's psychological, but this seems to help make a difference...let me know what happens, good or bad

Don't give up & good luck!!!

I'm tackling intonation next
