Rainforest - saw one yesterday

I was at a local vintage guitar shop yesterday and saw a Rainforest up close and personal, it was signed by Joe boldly on the front by the arm rest. It was just amazing, but the price, I'd have to sell a car as they were asking $9,995.00.

Besides the Rainforest, they had a few minty older JEMs, priced right, a GMC for $2,500 , alot of vintage Strats and Les Pauls and amps. It is a real nice place to "browse".

The owner was cool and really talkative. So when I want to drool, I know where to go.

Hi Rich. How come it was rejected? And how many were actually made?

Best regards.

The "design" is a prototype, painted by Pedro Cruz. Joe didn't like it.

Well I guess now that explains that "Toys in the Attic" advert, I see all the time in every single issue of Vintage Guitar! Perpetual members of the Ad...Rainforest and a GMC.

Wow... I love the painted pickups, but I don't like those knobs... Definitely not worth $10k I don't think, though.. For me to pay $3000 would be a huge stretch.

I absolutely disagree. There's nothing *washed out* looking about a production forest, and Joe isn't into photorealism and that's what this proto is. Joe is into the abstrct which is what a forest Carol painted is.

Sister, not wife.
