Recent JS Quality Check

Rich mentions several Quality problems about recent JS : neck pocket alignement, nut issues, or persistent radius problems.

I recently bought a '08 JS 1600 PSV and everything seems fine to me (from fret ends and fretboard finish to electonics)
I have some good guitars to compare with ('02 S2120X, and two early JC's ('98 SC3120 and '99 RG1880), and it seems really fine.

I'd like to know if anybody encountered problems with recent JS, nd if you can post some photos.

Rich, if you come here, can you tell us a bit more about what's wrong with some guitars you get from Ibanez. Can you tell with some photos if there's something to do to improve our instrumrnts, or if everything is fine ?

i had a prob with mine - probably a good setup would have done it a joy but no-one round this way can do it and the shops are useless...

the one i got it from dont know **** and the other shop doesn't like floyd guitars! great!

i just had a persistant buzz that wouldn't go at all - really puts me off the guitar.

come to think of it the only guitar i've had that i REALLY regret letting go of is the ESP Explorer i had.. it was a great guitar but at the time i thought i needed something better... now i want the same kinda guitar =/

Was wondering why my local store had one for $2500 AUS. They mentioned it had a tone pot problem. One reason why I wont buy from my local store there like used car salesman never honest.

I bought my JS1200 new last summer and the truss rod had to be straightened. When i lower the string action down to a low level, i got buzzin' frets. The body on the JS1200 is amazing and unique, the sound was sweet too, but i was a bit dissapointed with the fret work on it. The quality of them was not a high standard, which was a suprise because of the signature guitar that it is. I can't go very low with the action, like on a J Custom or a PRS.

My J Customs fret work is of a far higher standard. Take note Ibanez.

That's pretty much it, ibanez is losing its standard of quality simply because there selling more 350dx's to 16 year old's.
