Satch using a Y2K?!

I accidently stumbled across this video when i was searching instructional videos, but i thought i'd watch it for a laugh:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...49&q=Steve+Vai

Can someone confirm Satch is using one of the see-thru guitars? It looks like either a chromeboy or a Y2K, but i really think it's a Y2K guitar... Strange!

I dont see why he wouldnt use one, it is his signature guitar after all! In fact, I am suprised that I dont see him with one more often. Its his kinda guitar isnt it. Although saying that, the things are quite heavy!

Vai's soloing is so much better on that video than on the latest video.

If you're referring to the Tokyo DVD, I agree - I think the whole thing is better, the players are feeding off each other more, and appear more relaxed.

Re: Satch using a Y2K?!

the tokyo G3 is terrible.

The camera men should all be shot for it. When vai/satch/petrucci begins to do something fast or cool they either zoom in on the players hands (wtf) or the drummer, which is very annoying.
And yeah, some of the solos arent up to par (they are good solos, i just feel not as good as what they could do)

Re: Satch using a Y2K?!

yeah the G3 tokyo DVD sort of sucked, the individual performances were ok, its just the part at the end where the 3 get together wasnt that good.
