Satch's 7 string, double neck and other guitars: live pix

I went to Satch’s gig in Paris on July 8. Well overall I was quite disappointed with the crowd and with Satriani’s lack of communication with the crowd. Here are some pics I want to share with you ppl, you’ll find the classic chrome and graffiti JS1000 plus some pics of his double neck guitar and his new 7 string guitar ;-)

I wonder what his doubleneck configuration is... they both look like 6-strings with Edge trems and two humbuckers.

Alternate tunings, perhaps?

The top neck is the new fixed bridge Lo Pro, but there's got to be something "more", otherwise why would he lug around all that weight? LOL

Yeah he talked about it before starting to play with it. It's tuned in a weird way, if I heard well(and Im not very sure of that...and whether this is possible) I think I heard something like an octave difference betweeh the strings...something like the B string being tuned an octave sharper than the low E string...Im quiet bad at being able to hear notes properly, so I might just as well be completely wrong!!

Maybe the upper neck is tuned to a Nashville tuning, like on "Friends"? Then it would basically be tuned like the octave strings on a 12-string.

I visited the show in Tuttlingen, it was his first time to play in a circus tent he told me after the show at the hotel. (we met him there and the rest of the band)
I really love his new 7-string!

yeah - Shepherds Bush Empire, he said the top guitar was all tuned to E - but I think he was joking, cos I think I saw him adjusting the tuning on it.
