No need to quantify reasons, just that this is a false statement. There are lots of signatures that are worth a lot of money, which signors are still alive.

I'd say that's a bit of an exaggeration. While it is my main guitar, it hasn't received a speck of damage in the 7 or 8 years I've owned it. I may have said I don't worry about it getting damaged, but that would be because I take care of it. Joe actually commented on what good condition it's in. Since the backplate is scratched to hell (not by me) you can tell it's been played.

The guy who owned it previously did put a couple tiny dings in the finish and one that goes through to the orange (on the back edge by the strap button, apparently he bumped into a doorframe). Also noteworthy, I can't find a single hair in the "chrome".

As you can see from this pic, my finish is totally coming off......somebody call social services! :P

(Ok, so it DOES need a little cleaning......but I was in a rush and ended up standing around with a bunch of sweaty people at GC)

Anyway, about the cases, they made us check them at the door. I brought my JS10 in my wife's Hello Kitty gigbag. It's too bad I didn't try to make them bend the rules for me too, cos I'm sure Joe would've been amused by my guitar's incognito disguise. I was just happy to get to meet Joe and figured "their house, their rules".

Joe was soooooooooooo nice! Like I said, he commented on the condition of my guitar and told me to continue to take good care of it. We chatted for a minute or so and took the pic. It was awesome! The Ibanez rep came up and wanted to look at my guitar (as I'm sure he did for the 2 JSs mentioned above as well). Then after that I bought Rock Band for 360, then watched the bonus DVD when we got home. It was an excellent night!

Anyways, I would've posted sooner but the password retrieval for this forum is really wonky.

Billk, I apologize if I exaggerated my comment and twisted it but, so many people were talking about it that it trickled down and before you know it words get twisted around. I do have to mention that your JS10th is by far the cleanest I've seen even though it gets played. To be completely honest, I wouldn't have suspected the guitar had any flaws on its finish had you not mentioned it

Btw, what do you use to clean it? My guitar guy at Chuck Levins was telling me that they used windex to clean the 10th's and it worked flawlessly.

Welcome to Jemsite, and again, I apologize for the incorrect comments.

Jimmy

P.S.: If you ever decide to sell it, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Are people really this daf?
That S isn't worth that much. Maybe it was worth 2K when new but, certainly not that much right now.

WATER, BABY!!!

LOL. I fear all cleaning solutions. I just moisten a cloth and clean of any serious smudges, then just wipe it with a soft cotton cloth. I would be terrified of even trying windex.

No prob man, it was just funny. I've been a member for years and thought I'd come back and check it out because of the GC thing, saw your post and was like "Oh no you di'n't!" LMAO

Thanks for the re-welcome! It's been a while.

I don't think that will ever ever happen, barring medical emergencies........ but if I ever did, I'd check with the guy I bought it from first (funnily enough his name is Joe) because he kinda did me a favor by selling it to me (long story) even though he already had it up for auction. He wanted to buy the white and gold JEM and it was with great consternation that he decided to put it up for sale.......and then drop the price for me.

I think he realized that I was as big a Joe fan as he was.

But yes, I'd definitely consider you after, but really.....don't you have enough Joe guitars already? (How many do you actually have? and do you play them?)

I've got 3 JS's and the PRM hasn't gotten played yet. The reason why is because I've seen what Joe's done to his but, if I find the static vinyl cling, I would be able to play it all the time without worries. I've got a 1000BP that I play all the time and it gets more playtime than any of my other guitars. I've always wanted a 10th ever since they came out but was never able to find one new or used that wasn't abused to some degree.

I tell you, ever since I bought my first JS, I haven't been able to put it down because the guitars are so friggin' comfortable to play and so versatile! GAS, it's a terrible thing

Awesome pics Billk!

I remember seeing you outside with that Hello Kitty gig bag. I had no idea what you had inside it. Well done.

Everybody smirked at me and grinned as I walked by 200-something people with a Hello Kitty gig bag.....and I just grinned right back .

EDIT: Unrelated to the above, I just clicked on my name and looked at my first 2 posts, both from 2001. They appear to be after I got my JS10. LMAO I love digging up old posts.

Simple, look at the headstock Ral Donnies had a simple black headstock with the white Ibanez logo.
