Satriani is using Seymour Duncans ?? - seen on the new DVD..

Just take a look on one of the Chromeboys he`s playing on the concert. It looks like equipped with Duncan PUs.

I saw the same thing with him pictured with a pristine Chromeboy with the very visible SD lettering on the bridge pickup. Hmmmmm.....what should we think?

I think you guys are playing catch up! That's Pearly, it's had Pearly Gates in it since the Extremist!

I didn`t know before. Was just wondering about it. Do the DiMarzios not deliver the tone he gets with this? It sounds like a special tone, kind of single-coil sound with great harmonics.

Good to hear that. *Now I feel justified in sticking my JB and little 59 in my Radius... ;-)

he seems to use 'em (Chromeboy (DiM) and Pearly (SD)) almost interchangeably live.

is Pearly the JS10, then? (at least i assume its a 10th.. the one with a tilted jack)... the fact that it's luthite not wood may have something to do with his preference..?

No, the only time I've ever seen Joe play his 10th was a "lesson" mpeg he sdid for guitar.com (or one of those sites)

Joe has prototype and production model JS2's, the prototypes have the tilt jack.

edit : Typed a question already answered above. Sorry : )

Those clips are very interesting insights to Joe's musical approach. ; )
