Saw a JS1000WH yesterday

It was a 99 model with a pretty big ding on the lower horn. They (GC) were asking $899 for it. What would be a reasonable price?

Re: Saw a JS1000WH yesterday

I just played a 2006 at the GC here in Detroit and surprisingly it was setup pretty good. They want $1400 for it and in my opinion is worth it, but I dont want to spend that much. Ive seen used 1000's in the range of $750-$1000 depending on the condition. $899 is a decent price and also you have had a chance to play it. You might be able to get a deal in an auction, but who knows what you will get. GC usually will knock a little off the price and you could probably get them to sell at $800 if you have the money in your hand and tell them your not real crazy about the damage on the lower horn.

How big is the ding? It may be a good price if you don't mind the cosmetic part. I'd try to get it lower and have them include a hard case. Don't forget about the taxes--if that applies in TN? Good luck!

Re: Saw a JS1000WH yesterday

The ding was pretty big, probably about 3mm. The guitar felt really well though, and I think it made me play better . I had a crowd of about ten people watching me play through this nice Soldano amp, and a bunch were commenting on the tone. I really liked those pickups in it (FRED and PAF PRo I guess?). I guess they were relieved not to see a younger person walk in and play some BS thrash riff over and over on a Dean Dime O flame through a Line 6 with the gain on 10.

I doubt I'll be able to get it. I just don't think I have the funds. Just wanted to know if it was a good deal or not, as I don't really know the going prices for JS's.

I've tried a 1000 before in BTB. Let's just say that it will always be on my list of acquisitions.

The JS1000WH is a rare bird nowadays, if you like how it plays and if you do not mind the chip I would say buy it! but first try to haggle with them to bring down the price on account of the chip!
