Say I wanted a Chrome Boy....
Where would I go about getting one? I mean I want a JS, but I don't really wanna get the usual JS1000 or JS1200. I want something unique, know what I'm saying?

Re: Say I wanted a Chrome Boy....
If you want something unique, go custom. A chromeboy is not unique, you'd be one of like 400-something people I believe that has one.

Probably your best bet would be to trawl around here, the Bay or keep an eye on rich's site.
They dont pop up all too often tho.

Call him when monkeys are flying outta your asse,
Cause Rich won't consider selling his stash.
Rich has the axes to make you drool,
But if you think you'll get one - you're just a fool.
But call up the man - when you need the tools,
Cause there ain't nothing better than IBANEZ RULES.
*now somebody put it to music* :^)

Re: Say I wanted a Chrome Boy....
There's also a 'clearboy' (transparent body), perhaps even more rare than the Chrome one. And ofcourse the new anniversary model from this year.
Problem with the chrome is that the finish is not elastic enough, and will crack as the wood contracts or expands because of changes in temperature, humidity etc. That's why they moved to luthite (some kind of plastic that has good sonic properties, they also use it for the Ergodyne guitars and basses) later, for the chrome JS models. You might want to keep such details in mind, because it means that if you get a wood one, chances are that the finish is not mint, and if you get a luthite one, it will sound differently.

The clear-boy is the
Crystal Planet
everyone is talking about.
I want a chrome-boy too.
I used to have a home-boy guitar that I made at home but my buddy borrowed it and it was stolen.

Re: Say I wanted a Chrome Boy....
There's a Crystal Planet on the bay at the moment, item #130208407932. Seller is from Australia . The price is a bit steep for me.
Rock on!

There's only been one chromeboy that was made out of luthite, and that was the JS10th. All other chromeboy iterations had wooden bodies.
There's nothing wrong with the wooden Chromeboys and I wouldn't be so fast to make a jusdgement call if you don't own one.

If you're serious enough and have at least $5K, then you can buy one. There's a 10th on the bay for sale.
