Should I keep my JS100?

I like my JS100, especially the tran-red but till now
my playing changed alot and really wanted jumbo fret
but JS100 fret is kinda flat, not to mention down the road
with my heavy bending playing style will wear them out.

I wanted something along basswood or alder with tremolo
and jumbo fret.

Help help!

though of that option too but I have no idea as well as
do not have the tools. Not even the local guitar shop nearby
can do it.

Re: Should I keep my JS100?

It will take a lot of bending to wear the frets out.

If you are looking for us to justify your GAS, all you need to do is ask. Buy the most expensive guitar you can afford, and if you can't afford it get your credit card out.

Is it your first guitar? If it is don't sell it, get something done with it, change the fret. You can ask around for fret changing outside of your area

+1. Man life is short, reward yourself a good guitar that really suits your playing style.

Re: Should I keep my JS100?

Lol, the GAS thing is not for me.
I'm concern more on the technique and getting an expensive
gear and that's why I got the JS100 in the first place.

Maybe different people have different playing style and I find that
it is difficult to play fast in term of legato with medium fret as both
of my ibanez and PRS se guitars. And since I'm not playing through
high gain setting so I though jumbo fret would be more suitable.

Mahogany body is so warm and full, I like that but sometimes I wanted
something bright in my recording so basswood is fine by the low is somehow
different feel from it. I do have a RG320QS few years back and I sold it because the neck pocket is kinda misalignment with the neck, it has a jumbo fret and I can still recalled the jumbo fret feel.

Reason that I need to decide that if I should get let my JS100, as I'm
strongly believes (and my wallet too) two guitars is enough for me, one
warm and another bright. I can't justify to get many guitar and let them laying
cold as I believe there's a relationship developed with guitars we play.
Maybe some will agree, since we have that right feel when we pick up a
practical guitar.

lol I talk too much again.
Btw, anyone get their inspiration for song writing from
the right guitar sound?

Re: Should I keep my JS100?

KL is much more expensive, a lot of KL people come down here to get their fret change, plus (what I heard from them) the quality of fret change in KL sucks big time and is more expensive than in Penang, the guitar tech at my area is a wizard when it comes to fret change and guitar modification. You seem to know about Penang and KL, you came here often?

Re: Should I keep my JS100?

I own 3 js-100's and 1 js1200 and the differences are mainly the neck after a pup change...i consider it the best value for the money...a fret change at aapprox $200 sounds worth it. I did new frets on my electric rainbow js and is was worth it....and heres a good place to show-off my axes...thanks
