That's the first time I heard anybody complain 6105's were too tall.
They are fretted with 6105's because that is the fret Joe specifies. Like all signature models, the artist has total control.

hmmm.... they are big? I have a JS100 and I find the frets a lot smaller than those on my RG550. In fact, my only complaint about the JS is the small frets. hmmm...

um, now you guys have me paranoid that i have a warped guitar!
Maybe it's just that i'm used to the feel of classica guitar frets, and that i really like fender fretboards, both of which have small frets. just to avoid misunderstanding: i mean the hight of the fret from the fretboard, not the amount of space every fret has- thats a plus on the js1000 'cuz it makes playing in the higher registry, which in my opinion has two frets too few, a real breez compared to say, an RG.

ok, now i'm SURE there is something wrong with my guitar! or my ruler... maybe i'll replace the neck with the ruler?
i'll try another ruler.... and if that shows the same results, anyone here a collector of warped js's?

And I bet you thought WE were nuts!
If 1mm is too high for you I think it's time for you to explore a fretless
