Sold off my JS100 - my daddy always told me...

...you can't polish a turd, and I guess he was right. I put better pickups and an Edge on it and it still didn't feel "right" - though in it's defense, I recently chose a Music Man Luke over a JS-1000 when blowing some spare change at Guitar Center, so maybe the JS just isn't for me, period. The guy who bought it was happy to get it, and the whole experiment only ended up costing me a couple of bucks, but it does leave me wondering if I've been spoiled now... Playing Jems and now my Luke, I really have zero tolerance for less-than-excellent guitars (I've sold off 4 of my "lower end" models - including my Gibson Blueshawk - in the last four weeks). Playability is the number one criteria now, and if they can't compete with the Jems on that count, out they go!

And so I no longer have a Satriani guitar {sigh} - still have most of his CDs though

Personally I love the JS' . I see why you sold the JS 100! Even if it was "rebuilt"! I've set one important goal in my "guitar-playin'" life, and that is never to criticize others choice of guitar. :sarcasm: Way to go man! Play Loud!

Well I definitley understand where your coming from, and I don't blame you for selling, but my JS100 is staying because of sentimental value and plus I Love the thing. So I'm going with a Lo Pro in mine. Just haft to find someone who knows what there doing and plus I'm a little hesitant to ship mine from Japan to the States for the mod.

Well, I don't mean to diss the JS100 - I'm just saying that it isn't really up to a 1000's quality, and I didn't much like the neck shape... I bought it because it was a good price, but I never much liked it... but it says Satriani on it... but the frets are too small... but it's such a cool shape... but it slides off my lap... but! but! but!...

Scott - dropping the Lo Pro in was mostly a no-brainer; you can shave the trem cavity with hand tools if you want to do it yourself - the cavity in mine was nearly big enough for the Lo Pro stock - it only needed to be widened a tiny little bit...

Guy - so how do you like the guitar now that you own it? Is it what you hoped? I know that I kind of regretted letting the Evans pups go... those are just killer pickups!

I had a JS 100 too, and the only real reason I got rid of it, other than I didn't like the trem, is I got a straight across trade from a music store, for a brand new, with warranty RG7620 and a used but dead mint RG770! *I couldn't pass that up. *Otherwise, I loved the feel of the 100, and it sounded pretty decent for a cheaper guitar, just that damn trem. *Oh well, I traded the RG for a UV, and sold the RG770 to partially fund my JEM7VWH, so it worked out just fine for me.
