Too Good to be True? (JS1200 for $1100 on the bay)
I saw a 2011 JS1200 going for $1100 (buy it now+shipping) on the auction site with very little details and a couple of not-so-sharp photos. Even though the seller has 100%, couldn't help but wonder, "is this too good to be true?" I've never seen a JS1200 listed that low, let alone a 2011. The serial number block placement on the headstock seems a little out of place, but having never seen a JS1200 in person, it may be the usual place for it on JS1200 after all. Not that I could afford it right now, it would put me in a financial pit that's hard to climb out of, but one always wonder "can I?"
What are your thoughts? Is it really too good to be true?

Looks legit to me and a great price. Another one, new listed at ********, has the same serial number and manufacturer decal in the same place.

Looks legit to me.
I picked up one last week for $1100 with orig J-Craft case/strap/tools.
After a week of jamming on it, I say that price is a steal!!!

I've been contemplating a JS guitar for a while to compliment the four S series I have. If it had been any other color besides red, I would have bought it. Just not a fan of solid red.

There are some black pearl JS1000s on the infamous site but they're mostly about the same price as this one. I know Rich also has two used JS1000s for less than what they're asking on the auction site as well.
Oh well, I'm just getting back into playing after almost 14 years and a nice guitar won't make me sound any better at this point anyway.

I would do it if I were you. Only problem is that you won't play your S's anymore if you are anything like me.
I've kept my first S (had it since 1989) but wound up selling the other 2 S guitars I had since getting a Radius and JS's. I prefer the thicker necks now.

Re: Too Good to be True? (JS1200 for $1100 on the bay)
I've actually got a bit of GAS for a semi-hollow too...I only have one S I can part with(it's one in, one out at this time) as it's the only one that can be easily replaced (S5470). And I really like that guitar. I'm thinking the JS line wouldn't be enough of a departure vs. an S and it'd have to offer something more than just a different neck shape. I have a Gibson with a 50's neck, a Telecaster that's about halfway in between the Gibson and say a Wizzard HP (have two of those), and then two S series with original Wizzards. I actually adapt pretty quickly to any of them and they all seem to have their benefits and detriments.
So I'm not sure what I'd be getting with the JS that's any better or worse (or just a different experience) vs. an S series. Those new AS153's are starting to look pretty sweet too.

I've seen two 2011 JS120 sell for $800.
My buddy got one, I only has one small scratch on it.
He got the case too.
I passed on one at GC for $800, it didn't have the case, it was mint 2011.
