Where can i get a high pass filter

Who makes a High Pass filter that works the same as a JS high pass filter?

I far i have the CAD drawing for a JS, and a list of everything but electronics to build my own JS..Swirled JS of coarse

the hpf is pretty much just a 330pF capacitor soldered across the guitar's output. look at the jem's schematics for the exact capacitance (that has it hardwired always on), i'm writing this from memory.

I think someone should be brave and do a JS wiring schematic...

What happens when you pull up the pot with the volume turned down half way?

From the diagram, it looks like the capacitor only comes into play as the volume pot is turned down.

just tried it ... dunno if really anything happens since i couldnt turn it up loud... but it seems as if the high tones get a BIT louder, but only a real tiny bit... might be subjective cos of the sound the springs make or sth...

That's all it's supposed to do, keeps more of the highs in the signal when you roll the volume down.

If you can't hear a difference:
unscrew the screws that are holding your electronics control back plate.....and take a look at your caps to see if any of the two wires that are connected to the pot and cap are broken. In your case.....you will look at the cap that is attached to your volume knob's lugs on the pot.......I had this problem when i got a Js1. One of the wires that connected to a lug on the pot was broken and i had to replace it.
If no wires are unconnected or broken, and you still can't hear a difference.....maybe it's time to put a new one in.....
Your local guitar tech would do it for you. but if you know how to solder...you can do it yourself. Of course you'd have to buy the 330 uf capacitor from an ibanez dealer......check with your local music guitar tech....he may have one in stock.

I think you notice it more when the high pass is not in effect, when the highs sound dull.

well... i tried around a bit and as i said, i only hear a TINY difference in volume when pulling it... but that might be not true and just seeming, due to the sound of the springs when i pull

i know how to solder but i can't seem to find any mistakes/broken wires... strange tech anyways... not really overviewable

Well, it's not really supposed to be an obvious "effect".

I find that with a pure clean tone....you can notice the effect of the HPF a little more as you decrease the volume......versus with a distorted tone. But it's not supposed to be an all out big difference that you hear. If you hear more "mud" when rolling down the volume....then the HPF is likely not working like it should.
As a last resort......try cleaning your ear canals and then try it again

I went to buy one at an electronics store for my tele ages ago and the guy said "you only want ONE? PFFFT. Put your wallet away" and just handed it to me. He said just buying one wasn't even worth the walk back to the cash register. Heh.
