That has nothing to do with what he does to Joe's. What that sounds like is a basic Silver minus setup with the added level. I'll put my Silver + up against that anyday
Hopefully the Shur gives you what you want.

You and Joe should be doing business then.

It wouldn't be the first time
Joe's are full compound board radius, refret, etc, etc. Gary used to quote $850 for the full package near 10 years ago.

Re: Where in the UK can I try out JS100 / JS1000 / JS1200
Rich, this brings up something I have thought about...
Where does your set-up compare to Joe's set-up.
Is there anything else that could possible be done to a off the shelf
js1200
that you don't do? Like stuffing the pick-up cavity. I've heard Vai does that as well. What I mean, is basically if you handed Joe a JS you set-up, what would he do to it?
And Valhalla, As a proud owner of a Rich set-up Js1200, and friend of a guy with a JS1000bp set-up by another shop...
There is no comparison. I don't know what bag of voodoo Rich pulls out, where he pulls it out of, or what he does with it once removed, but I thank my lucky stars he pulled it out for mine. It really is set-up that much better.
I wish my Jem and RG were set-up by Rich. I barely play either one these days. They just don't have the Mojo that the JS has.

The only difference would be the multi radius below the A - B strings, and how low the action is set. Most people don't want 3/64th action.

Without looking like a kiss ass, my American Master was setup by Rich, and to this day it's the only guitar i have ever EVER left alone (i dropped the trem about 1mm either side) and raised it again about 6 months later.
Again, brings me back to the pride issue, if it's worth doing, do it fcuking right
Rich Bro, you Rock /asskissing

It's kind of hard not to kiss his ass when you've bought a guitar from him.
<asskissing>You understand the work put into it, and reap the benefits.
My buddy with the 1000 is coming over for a Jam on Saturday, so I'll get to hear him once more proclaim "there's just "something" about your guitar"
I don't know what that "something" is, but I damn sure know who put it there.</asskissing>

It's the PAF JOE
I always love it when I hand Mak a guitar, he can always tell right off. I was over there Friday with a 2550 ZPS flat from pullup and he looked up and said "Platnum?" kinda confused. It was a silver that went a little overboard as usual, but it confused him. After we got through talking about the ZPS problem [that's going to have to go to the engineers] I started pulling out 1200's, neck pocket alignment and perpetual contour blems. The first I handed him was done ready to ship [like the 2550] and he looked up and unquestioning said "Platnum"
It was of course, he knows when he picks one up. The problem with the neck alignment [besides the obvious] is that after you pin the neck into correct alignment the neck p/u ring is now at an angle to the end of the neck and has to be turned to match parallel. It's, a pain. Returned 2 1200's while I was there.

How much would it cost me to get my 1200 Rich'd? Must be extra expensive between Canada and the US with border duties and taxes etc...

if it's like the UK, you'll only pay shipping there and back, as country of origin is destination (after work) so no taxes, however, not 100% sure it's the same Can-US

I'll have to see how the year goes, I may or may not have to put up a Services link. Typically I never have time. I took on 1 job last year.
But, you've already demonstrated that you're perfectly happy with what you have, so you are not a good candidate. Besides, you're Shur bound
