White JS1 on the Bay

Did anyone see it? Did anyone buy it? It had two dings on the body (no paint chips, just dings). The dings were on each side of the trem. Other than those, the guitar looked in great shape. I think the guy wanted $1100 obo.

I think it's still there! those white ones are kind of rare so if I was in the market for a JS I think I would have bought that one!

That JS1 was also on the bay last week. It didnt move. It looks like Js's are not in demand as of late.

That's a different one. The one that was there last week had 2 hb's, the one on the bay is the one Rich had for sale a while back. It's got the single coil in there.

Re: White JS1 on the Bay

i don't think they are that coveted. i sold a white js1 in player condition (dings in the finish mainly, but nothing down to the wood) for $700 last year and felt that it was a fair price. the only thing i could see people preferring on them over the current models is the edge trem and the single coil.

Re: White JS1 on the Bay

Yea i've noticed JS's price drop over the last few years, i bought my BTB brand new for £1300 in 2003, now you can get a new 1000 or 1200 for about £1000.

To be honest, i think its mainly due to the fact that satch never uses them, he always uses his chrome ones or his snake/flames/super collosal whatever, you very rarely see him with a production JS.

when the BTB first came out i went to a JS gig a few weeks later and he brought it out, used it for 1 song then chucked it in the back and never used for the rest of the set.

In short, what use is a sig guitar that his fans cant buy, other than the PRM but thats not really feasable to buy as a player...

I asked Joe aftershow last year why he doesn't use the BTB and he said.... 'Uh,... errmm'. He looked a bit uncomfortable with the question and there was a moment of silence. So I did'nt persue it and asked him another one.
