Why not make Chrome Boys as standard production?

Hi Guyz, I'm new to the site ! and I've always been a Jem and Js fan! I currently don't own any of them but am saving up for the jem7vwh ! Anyway, I was just wondering since so many people (like me) want the Chrome Boy, why can't Ibanez just make it as a standard production guitar? instead of it being limited?

Hoshino had so many problems with the plating process that it is unlikely that they will ever get involved with that again.

Plus, with this economy, how many $3,000 guitars can they expect to sell.

i recon that making a crome finish not plateing on a budget version (JS100) would look good (for the money)

If you go on ebay, there is a plating service that offers an alternative to making your Js guitar into a "chromeboy". However, the finish is really nickelplated but looks very similar to a chromeboy....probably can't tell the difference if you look at it from 5ft away. They claim that their process yields a stronger finish, more so than paint, which means that it won't crack or peel.....but i guess only time will really tell if that is true or not.
I've heard positive things about them though so far........so it is definitely a cheaper way to go in getting a "JS chromeboy".

I'll take over Rich's task regarding feedback on 'nickeling' a JS:

Since it it is nickeled : it will never be a chromeboy, so call it a nickelboy!

yeah , you'r right. There are hundreds of people who are willing to buy a chrome boy, but cant cause they can't find it. They also can make the chrome jem a productive too. People like rich or anybody else who has contact with Ibanez should tell this to them.

Its too hard to make end of story. They had mortal hell with the first batch. Although I will admit it is a classy eye catching look.

Im pretty sure rich would ship it to you dude... lol. I would much rather have a donnie than a chrome boy. IMO.

Thank you

Ibanez has made it clear they will never get involved again in another chrome finish production run.
