I'm very glad to have discovered this site...a treasure trove of helpful information...many thanks to the creators & maintainers
This is my 1st post, so here goes!!! I own a JS100 with the EdgePro II bridge...I've been reading pages upon pages of "JS (Satriani Model)
Ibanez Guitars" posts for so long my vision is blurred...please don't make me read through them all again
I have just 1 question...I know I saw this same question/issue, but perhaps on a different site...I'm just not sure
My question pertains to the trem bar, or whammy arm - whatever you want to call it...it merely slips into a hole on top of the bridge - simple enough...there is quite a bit of "play" - the bar wobbles back & forth without really moving the bridge up or down...it will virtually fall out if the guitar is turned facing down...with a few gentle tugs in normal playing I even find myself totally pulling the bar out accidentally
Contrary to what I have seen, my EP2 does not seem to possess a tension set screw as reflected in some illustrations...let me say there is very tiny black post/screw of some type, but it does not appear to accept an
allen wrench...furthermore, you can't even get to it with a wrench the way it is situated in the body cavity...I am just not sure this is a set screw & I really don't want to take the trem completely out to know for sure...strangely, it appears to me that on the side opposite of where the bar height set screw is located there is a fairly large hole drilled into the metal with nothing there...I know this sounds crazy, but it's as if the wrong side was drilled out
I went back the store where I bought the guitar...I thought I could even have the wrong bar...I looked at a different one in the store & it's the same as mine...this business doesn't employ guitar tech's, so they didn't know what to tell me
Outside of jamming something in the hole to take up space, anyone wrestled with this?...again, I am positive I read this same thing from someone else, but the shop personnel only scratched their heads too from what I recollect
Sorry to be so long winded...thanks for your indulgence
