Re: 20th Anniversary RG?

Since there are so many maple freaks here...

Can you in a blind test determine what fingerboard wood you are playing? Or is it purely looks you shallow bastards are going for?

In that case, dye it pink!

Every 5xx series or prestigue rg in each stage perform exactly the same other than things like peizo or synth, so the only thing that worth making better is the appearance. , you can buy a 1570 and have th same playability as the 20th so apperance is everything.

Most certainly can tell the difference between maple and rosewood. However, a blind test between maple and ebony would be much more difficult as they are both sooo smoooooth

Re: 20th Anniversary RG?

I don't trust any of you who claim to be able to feel the difference. Come to Oslo, and we'll do a real test. I'll hand you the guitars, so you will find them. Clothes on, always seated. That's the rules.

Fortunately, there are guitars with different woods in the fretboard. Samick had one half and half, at least on a bass, also, half the neck was fretless...

I'd love to see a re-released RG770DX with NEON colors, maple board and matching colored pickups and sharktooth.

That gets a +1000000 from me!!

A 770DX revamp/reissue would be the ultimate Anniversary RG.

Maybe a hybrid between the 770DX and the 565... 770DX with reverse headstock and H/S pickup config ala 565. Sweet!!

Re: 20th Anniversary RG?

The most important thing no one has mentioned. What tremolo system will Ibanez use? I guess the Edge is out, so will it be the Lo Pro or something else?
I am assuming it would be the Lo Pro, but i guess nothing is a guarantee when it involves the Ibanez head hunchos.

Itll be an edge pro

as far as maple is conserned, any idiot could tell the difference by feeling the two, rose wood is vey rough and its easy to feel the grain, but it doesnt change the way you play.

You might want to add some ear plugs with the blindfold so people can't hear the tonal differences.
