One of my guitar students recently pickup up a 470s hardtail on my recommendation ( tuneomatic style, clear red finish, V7+8 +single pickups, '92 model, I think. non-AANJ.
I had never played one before, but I liked the thought of my favorite guitar- S series Ibanez- in a
fixed bridge configuration. (---I know- This is Jemsite, but this is the best Ibanez oriented site around! I dont have any Jems)
I set it up for him, and I loved it! I am looking for one myself. It has the best designed hard tail tunomatic I have seen! everything locks down, awesome tone transfer, short scale, for easy bending. lots of "woody" tone from it. What years were these made? anyone else have one? any opinions? more details?
I already have 2 S540's ,a QS and a BM. They are so much better than the S470's out now, at least the ones I have tried. the 470S seemed on par with the 540's as far as construction and components.
so- Im just wondering who else has had experience with them, has more details on their availablility, etc.
thanks!
