540S opinions

So I recently bought a 540SCB which I believe to be 1987 or 88.

What do you guys think of these guitars?
It hasn't arrived yet and I'm getting quite excited about it lol.

I own an s2120x which is an awesome guitar, though I don't get on too well with the seemingly high string height for such a thin guitar. (I don't mean action, I mean the neck joint seems to make the fingerboard sit high up from the body)

Do the older ones have a lower string height?

Anyway, the axe should be with me any day as it has been nearly a week since I paid for it, though I think it was dispatched last tuesday, all the way from LA so I don't exepect it too soon.

Didn't we have at least one old thread on how the newer S's had a shallower neck pocket, making the fretboard sit high relative to the top of the body? I don't think the earlier Japanese S's had that problem.

Thats definitely the case on a lot of korean models, including mine, but the indo models I've seen have apparently fixed that. the S670 i tried sustained so much longer than my prestige, it was ridiculous.
