'88 540SLR,, questions

I have a white '87 540P that I brought brand new, and love. Just bought a '88 540SLR, see a lot about the 540S, what does the SLR mean? can't find much about them. I love it too..
It was made in the USA, even though the guy I bought it from said it was an Japan made 540S.

probably it's 540S-LR? that would be something like Lipstick Red? where did you got it's called SLR? any pix?

anyway, most of the earlier 540 (either P, R and S) were assembled in the USA with Japan-made parts.

NO Ibanez guitars were made in the USA at at time, even though it may have been assembled in the USA. Hoshino (ibanez's parent co) had all production done at the Fujijen factory, they just used neckplates that said either "made in Japan", Bensalem, PA or North Hollywood, CA

The LR would denote lipstick red. I have two of these, and they are amazing guitars.

well duh, I feel stupid, now didn't even think about the color.
There is nothing on the head stock or this 540S like my 540P has with the serial number and made in japan on it. It just has the plate on at the bottom.
I do love it...

also just got an old '97 Johnson JM150, wow this amp blows me away to be 11 years old it is really cool.
