A deal NOBODY would pass up; check out my used S series!

I made a thread a few days ago asking if anybody had ideas on how to dress up badly worn and pitted cosmo black hardware. It was posted in anticipation of a used 540S I bought last week and I was waiting on. Now that I have the guitar, and I found out that it's functional and didn't fall apart while I took it out of the shipping box, I thought I'd spill on beans and shamelessly show off my deal!

$93 is what I paid (minus the cost of shipping)!! $123 total. I expected the thing to show up with a repaired headstock, major fretwear or some other oddity. It has nothing functionally wrong, aside from the funky hardware and some nicks! The frets are still full of life, I can set the action low, and the electronics work. Great player, I don't think I could ever sell this one. I've never owned an S, but I'm loving the weight, or REALLY I mean the lack of weight.

I think people are better educated about guitar's value and pricing today, but it seems there are still some deals out there. I've read about some ridiculously good RG and S deals you guys have got in the past. I'm just happy to get a deal of my own finally.

I was going by the fact that it has the bound neck and stock as well as the sharkies. More of an RG guy myself though,so I guess I could be mistaken.Either way though he got himself a killer deal.

that guitar is sick. as for $123!!!! holy crap!!! killer deal!!! the cheapest japanese ibanez's i ever got was an rg550 in black for $180 and an rg570 in black for $165. that kills either one. now the best deal i have ever got was an alvarez 12 string that normally costs $600 with no case for only $100 with a hard gigbag. love those old early/mid 90s ibanez's.

Re: A deal NOBODY would pass up; check out my used S series!

Thanks for the compliments guys, I'm really appreciating my deal so far! I know it's kind of superficial, but I've always wanted a nice superstrat shape with big white inlay. Sharkfin or sharktooth, whatever, I've always loved the look. But beyond looks, I even like it down to the stock pickups.

The only thing I'm going to do right now is clean it up and change the hardware to make it look as "new" as I can. I'll take good care of it!

I have a bit of fretbuzz on the first few frets, but I still have to adjust the truss rod more. It seems to play pretty fine. There's a few nicks in the neck finish, but not enough to make me sand it down and refinish.

Congrats. What a deal!

That definitely trumps the MIJ S body and MIJ Wizard S neck I picked up for $54
