A few questions...

Well, tonight I was at the Guitar Center for a few hours and played an S 520EX...and I thought it played extremely well and the ZR was great.

However, I'm not a big fan of the inlay so I figured if I ever purchase an S it'll be an 470DXQM...

However, the INF2 pup didn't seem to want to pick up my pinching harmonics too well, though my INF4 in my rg 350ex at home on the same amp (Vox AD50VT) will make them scream.

Now for those who own/have tried out both for awhile, is this a question of me not finding the "sweet spot" for pinches just yet on the S series? Or is the INF2 just not as hot of a pup as the INF4?

Also, after using the ZR for awhile there, it was obvious it was superior to my Edge III trem in terms of tuning stability. I understand locking studs will help the tuning stability of the Edge Pro, but would they really do any good with the Edge III? Or would the fact that it's simply made of a softer metal and the mechanism being not as strong be too much for the locking stud to help it a lot with tuning stability when doing crazy dives and whatnot?

It will always help it a bit.

And the pinche thing, do you mean RG 350ex, because then it probably is you not being familiar with the different scale length. Other than that it could be anything, like old strings etc but probably not the pup.

Different scale length? You mean they aren't both 25.5 length? Ibanez.com says otherwise...is there something I'm missing? (other than that I know the S has 22 frets and the RG has 24)

And referring to the trem, would you know how much a bit is? I don't mean to get picky but it'd help knowing if it's worth the $44 or if I should pay the $150 for a used edge/LoPro/OFR.

And btw, does the OFR have locking studs? Sorry for sounding like a noob I've just never really thought about locking studs except on the Ibanez floating bridges, I sometimes can forget there's the OFR/Schaller/Gotoh, etc.

Both the S(not counting the S-Classic and SA/SZ series) and RG are both 25.5" scale. There's no difference in scale between an S520 and RG350.

You're better off, IMO, swapping the Edge III for an OFR, than trying to 'upgrade' it with locking studs.

The OFR does not come with locking studs.

Well, thanks for the answers - though I'm not having nearly enough trouble with my Edge III to justify paying $200 for OFR and locking studs.

If anything I guess I'll either go for an ESP arm adjustor or the locking studs evntually...I'm not so unhappy with it to spend that much money...thanks though!

My bad but it would still change your orientation a bit with everything moved around.
