A new addition to the collection...

Saw this in a local music shop today and thought, 'Yep, that'll do nicely'.

The grand collection now consists of two JS1000's and this little beauty...early days and I'm new to the game.

Apologies for the quality of the photos - time for a decent camera methinks

Looks like an RG550 LTD in New Penny Matte finish to me,

Congrats in the find, may we ask how much this set you back?

Spot on jono - tis indeed an RG550NPM.

Paid £599 for it but I have no idea if that's a good price or not.

Heh, I actually didn't like the colour till I saw the name.

If it ever starts to fade, just polish it with ketchup to return its luster! Or dip it in some cillit bang

Re: A new addition to the collection...

it is a RG550LTD NPM, year 1999, with a pickups change.

nice guitar!.
uhmm.... but i think that the price is a little expensive (for me): £599 = 863€ = $1250.

regards.

Re: A new addition to the collection...

This is England - we don't do cheap guitars over here!

I couldn't and still can't find any pics of an RG550NPM so what is it about the pickups that says they're changed?

Re: A new addition to the collection...

i have the ibanez catalog 1999 with a RG550LTDNPM pic inside like yours.
the stock pickups were ibanez V7 s1 V8.

and yes, you are right. in England, the guitar (and all things) prices are expensives.

regards.
(sorry my english)

just curious. like DaniJem said they're obviously not stock, probably Dimarzios which would be a big improvement.

Re: A new addition to the collection...

You're right southpaw - having taken a closer look they are Dimarzios. Afraid I couldn't tell you what model they are but they sound a damned sight better than the stock ones would have done.
