AANJ Wizard neck and S body

Hi,

I have a 24 fret MIJ AANJ Wizard neck, and I am interested in purchasing a MIJ S body. Will this neck fit the S body as long as it is AANJ, or will modifications be necessary?

only if it's a 22 fret wizard neck, the 24's will not intonate correctly on a S body.

It is a 24 fret. I guess I need another RG! Thanks for the response.

Question

Re: AANJ Wizard neck and S body

I was thinking, they are both 25.5" scales, so why would there be a probelm?

Re: AANJ Wizard neck and S body

because the neck on an S series screws in further away from the bridge. The neck on an S is shorter.

if you had an Rg neck, the nut to bridge distance would be way different.

Because all that means is that the nut is 25.5" away from the bridge. Imagine a 25.5" scale, but with only 12 frets, the guitar body would have to be very long to keep the nut and bridge 25.5" apart.

The difference in neck length between a 22 fret and a 24 fret isn't much, but it would change the nut to bridge length.
