Alder is a must!
I own different guitars made by different woods and I perefere alder by far.
I am now looking for a new Ibanez. Keeping in mind alder is a must What guitar would you recommend me?
BTW: I already have a Jem7vwh

from what i can think of, isn't the vwh like the only ibanez with alder

If you want alder and already have or don't want to buy a VWH, then you have to go custom. I ended up having two bodies made for my RGs.

If i recall, weren't the USRGs alder?
As for current production i would think the 7VWH is the only
alder bodied

I think many of the USRG's were in fact alder.

Yep, you could get a 570 is both ash and alder years ago, but good luck finding one today.

how about a Talman, Blazer or RT ('retro' rg) ? they were all available with
alder bodies
. They were never that popular though, so it could be difficult tracking one down., ten years too late...

Yeah, alder is a great tone wood. I love it's tonal qualities. Especially with nice hot pickups. I believe in the right guitar for the right job and alder can do almost everything. I'd like to try a 7 made of alder. I'll bet it'd really tighten up that low B.
