AMazing paint on a 540R
Ok, I grabbed another 540R, so I obviusly went the custom way with it. And the natural and logical choice for me was to send it to Luis (from Daniels guitars) which made the sparkle JPM7, the Donnie Hunt replica (with my other radius), the
Les Paul
Rebel replica and the UCGR "fiding nemo"
with my RG770 (see the other thread).
Well, I was considering a replica of the snake or another Donnie until I saw a sample of this finish (that they had never applied before).... well it blew my mind.
Here are a couple of pics of the guitar without any polish (so this is how it looks when its raw and without any shine.....)
Since the pics dont do it justice I also added a youtube video:
Wait till you see it finished!!

I think I saw that guitar in some shop in Talcahuano a few weeks ago, I think in a shop right opposite to MAK, a few metters away from Sarmiento, not quite sure though...did you buy it there? it was white I think...Daniels told me the other day he's working on a JPM/RG puzzle crossover...all the figures will be done with actual wood...he said that the project was driving him mad hahahahah I'm taking my RG to him this week, I love the work he did on my S

Re: AMazing paint on a 540R
Its not the guitar you are referring to. I bought this one online a couple of months ago. Th RG/JPM you are talking about is not mine either, I believe they guy that sold me the sparkle JPM7 order it.
Kotornu, about the thing you you are talking about, its not a finish problem just some dirt. Keep in mind that the guitars hasnt been polished yet, so its going to end up looking even better.
Thanks to all for the complements. Really, the pics don't even come close to seeing it in person.

Okay, I just thought that I saw something, but I know nothing about finishing so I didn't know.

Get plastic humbucker covers and have them painted to match. Jackson and Charvel were doing that years ago.

Re: AMazing paint on a 540R
I want the pups to be flashy, but not to match the guitar, that's why Im going with silver/chrome pups
