anyone else get annoyed with the RGT42 trem?

anyone? ive had this guitar a while now, great guitar, looks awesome sounds better may weigh a ton but it plays fantastically, one problem.... the trem, yeah keeps it in tune well whilst doing dive bombs and other flappy moves, but, it cant do gurgles and the trem arm is constantly coming loose so i have to constantly tighten it back up (think every 1/4 of the way through a wammy heavy satch/vai song) ive even had it fall out (the arm) during a performance, at college luckily.... but still mighty embarassing.
anyone else having this trouble with there rgt42/edge pro II (i think thats the one) anyone got any solutions? and not just buy one if i could i would.

Cheers dudes

Re: anyone else get annoyed with the RGT42 trem?

I have the same guitar, bought it on-line. I was a bit worried before receiving it as; all I kept reading about was how bad the trem was. Once I got it, I took the old strings off and took the trem out just to have a good look at things. There are actually 2 set screws that adjust how tight the bar swing is. One of the set screws is further down on the side of the trem arm hole. So you can't adjust it unless you have the trem out of the guitar. There is good news though. After I tightened BOTH of the set screws I haven't had any problems with the trem arm. I bought this guitar on-line from a music shop. It just goes to show you that most guitars in stores aren't setup to their full potential. BTW it plays beautifully.

Re: anyone else get annoyed with the RGT42 trem?

there was a guy on here who was fitting original edge arm holders to edge pro II's and then (obviously) using the original arms. i seem to remember he was from somewhere in canada.

sounds like a pretty good idea.

me, i don't have trouble with my rgt42fm anymore. mostly because i never play it!
