anyone know what finish is on prestige guitars?

i hyeard from a bud if it is nitro_cellulose(spelling??)that it should not be kept on my stand that has rubber where the neck rests and the bottom of the body.or is is poly_something like on my epiphone?i like to keep my guitars out and handy so when i have 10 mins i can just grab it.

Polyurethane or polyester. You should be fine.

ryanb's right, it'll be either polyurethane or polyester. Don't worry about it too much, you should be able to leave it on a stand.

Even then, it is not quite the 'nitro' from those 'days'. Real nitro has been banned for quite some time.

Why's it banned?

So how do Les Paul players keep their guitars upright? Are there special non-rubber using stands for nitro finished guitars?

so everyone keeps theirs on a cheapo 20$ stand an no problems?my bud keeps his 62 reissue strat and gibby les paul in the case
