Bio armor RG

Hi,

Hey, have you guys seen this one yet? I hadn't. It's a new crazy RG creation. The finish is called 'Bio armor'. It is original... But a bit of a required taste, imo.

Re: Bio armor RG

I personally hate the design. As does everyone else I've talked to about it.

But some may like it.

Yep, same here. Idk what's going on with ibanez lately that makes them think people like pixelated cammo or fireworks or random tribal slash graphics [the RG370 i believe somewhat recently came out in all those]. What happened to nice quilt or flame tops...

As far as the wood tops, perhaps people don't buy into the veneer tops on the standard RG line? Maybe people who want those step up to the Prestige line? But I still think Ibanez offers the wood top guitard you're talking about.

But I'll agree with you I don't understand their crappy graphics. I'm an 80's child and have a huge place in my heart for custom graphic guitars. I had the 1989 USA Custom poster over my bed for a long time when I was a kid. I feel like if they offered a guitar like an RG370 with graphics like that, people would jump all over them.

No I know that they offer quilt and flame tops and all that stuff, but I just meant primarily that IMO guitars like that pixelated cammo thing (what is that supposed to be anyway?) look like toys and not like musical instruments, and that lately there has been an uprising of these weird finishes that according to most music stores I know about havent really sold well at all, to the surprise of nobody lol.

Re: Bio armor RG

Well, if the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Schecter comes down to a reasonable price ($50 converted) I'll hang it on my wall. Wouldn't play it though.

I don't mind these tops, but they're gimmicky and you'd never buy one of these thinking of it as a keeper. It seems a bit odd to build something with the longevity of a guitar and then turn it into 'this year's thing'.

Re: Bio armor RG

For a beginner guitar (i.e. Ayrton's 13 year old), it is probably considered "awesome" and "cool"

I rather prefer the maple veneers, etc

Re: Bio armor RG

I like the bio armor guitar but, honestly, not enought to buy it. And some folks might find the old Streetwise or Necromancer's Castle RG's as cheesy as the tribal or camo guitars. Personally, I prefer the new designs. At least they're trying.
To each their own...
But yes, more options for "regular" finsihes and quilts would be nice too.
Oh yeah, some said a while back that cutting a handle in a guitar was gimicky too. Certainly no one on this board, though.
