buying a new guitar RG1570 or RGT42DXFM

Well I have been thinking of getting a new guitar for a while and two that seem to keep getting my interest are the 1570 and the rgt42dxfm. Any sugestions as to the two guitars. I know the best thing is to try them both out, and I will , but just wondering what others think or have experienced. As to waht I will use it for, is strictly home use playing a bit of everything. I also saw a used prestige model not sure what one, it had a silver textured body.

It all depends on your budget. the 1570 will have a better trem and the 42 is a neckthrough with a lower end trem and it's also made in korea. I think either one of those would be a good choice and, for me, it would boil down to budget.

I'd take an older RG 5xx or 7xx over either of them, plus I'd still have some money in my pocket.

I have an rgt42 too. I never use the tremolo, but other than that, the quality of the guitar is great. In you upgrade the pickups, and maybe throw in a Gotoh floyd, you got your self a SICK guitar.

But I'd go for the 2570 if you can

Hey chef, I have a RGT42DXFM and its pretty nice. Im not a bolt-on fan, and I prefer wizard II necks, so i prefer it over all my old RG5xx's and RG76xx's..

Im moving to Dartmouth next weekend, maybe I could show you it sometime if you really need to check it out.. with a DSonic and Duncan Jazz7 =]

I actually went with the 2570 VGD, I am just waiting for Rich to work his magic on it with a set up. I will post some pics when I get it. Nick are you moving here for school?

Yah, that new NSCC waterfront campus in Dartmouth, for Music arts. should be a blast, although my theory needs lots of work.

the looks on the RGT are great... nice metal look and feel... but the prestige line is another level... a better... if i ever buy a RGT would be with a fix tremolo...

I had an older RGT42 and I couldn't stand the bridge. The trem bar was difficult to adjust and to my ears the pickups sounded really weak.

Sold it and got a 2550, haven't regretted it.
