Can anyone guess the value of my ibanez?

Know that I reside in Holland, so prices are perhaps higher here than in the states.

I might want to sell my Ibanez custom S-series somewhere in the next few months, but only if I know I can get a decent price for it.

Can anyone tell me an estimated value of this guitar using the descriptions below, and if someone could tell me more usefull details about this guitar, please let me know

anyway the specs:
it's a custom made (at least that is what the inlay on the 21st fret tells me) Ibanez S-series (superthin body & neck), I bought it about 6 or 7 years ago 2nd hand in a shop for about fl 2100,- (in euros that would be (not counting inflation) around €1000 )

Made in Japan
Serial#: F348319 (I don't know if Ibanez serials give any usefull information)
bodycolor: purple sunburst with gold hardware
woodtypes (I dunno, am not that skilled in those)
rosewood fingerboard (22 frets)

pickups: H-S-H
IBZUSA F2 humbucker (bridge position, which I replaced with a DiMarzio Dualsound last spring, but I plan to replace the original pickup, cuz I want to keep the Dimarzio.)
IBZUSA C3 singlecoil
IBZUSA F1 humbucker (neck position)

it has 1 volume knob and one tone knob.
5-way switch (not of the standard variety, the previous owner replaced it with a more expensive switch (dunno the type)).

Licensed Floyd (looks very different from normal floyd or schaller)

I have lost the trem-stickthingy (whatever it's called), and I can include an universal hardcase (nearmint condition, havent used it much, since I find gigbags more usefull).

dunno what else to tell. it has some damage as you can see on one of the pics below.

anyway, what do you guys think of this guitar, and what it's worth?

well dude, the scratches are so severe, my guess would also be 500 Euro's, TOPS. it looks like you had some sort of Kurt Cobain attack, at least the guitar indicates that. I think it is a shame if you sell it, the return is so low, bu that guitar has so sound great, so don't sell, but stick with it!

It's one of the older high-end S-series, i saw mint ones go for around 1200M in germany, which is around 600 e/$...as said, no more than 500...

not sure about the value, but it's definitely not custom made. A lot of S-series (as well as other guitars) from that era had "Custom Made" at the 21st fret. The serial number tells you it's made in Japan in 1993.

yeah, i'd also say keep it. you're probably not gonna get much for it with the damage.

thx

thanx, I feared as much.

the damage was caused by a failing beltstrap during the year after I bought it, so my guitar kinda crashed unto the ground while playing.
After that incident I started to use straplocks, but the damage was already done.

It's a nice guitar, plays smooth, but it doesn't really compete with my latest purchase (an early 90's Jackson Rhoads Pro with active Reflex humbuckers) in playability and sound.
the rhoads is pretty light as well, and the ebony fretboard plays smooth like butter, and the reflex hum's.... well..... they just sound better than those currently installed on my Ibanez.

but because this Ibanez is a nice guitar to play, I only intented to sell it if I'd get a really good price. If the revenue would be less than €450,- I rather keep it myself and perhaps later in future I'd re-appreciate it again.

I just need some loads of cash (also bought a Gibson Explorer 90 and a Charvel 475DLX last month) and I think 4 guitars is just 1 or 2 too many for me at the moment (am still a student, so don't have a job that pays a nice amount of money each month).

Sell the gibson and put better pickups in this thing- dimarzios would be the obvious suggestion, but maybe EMG's if you like active electronics... that and a bit of setup work and you'll never look back.

Yeah maybe he's right..

Anywaze.. I'm also a Dutchy, live in Rotten Damn (Rotterdam ) and I think that IF I'd have the money, I'd also give about E 500,- for it. Actually.. I'm quite interested since my former guitar teacher has a Saber like that aswell.. Except for the gold hardware and the sunburst purple colour. His is dark purple and has a Roland GK1 installed it sounds AMAZING... I guess his is from an older era, might differ a few years from yours.. Older of course.

Might I have some money, I'll drop you a mail.. But first, I need to buy me a S520XCA!

€ 500,- is typically a price I have to ponder on.
when given a price above 650, I'd sell it in a thought, when the price drops below 450, I rather keep it.
any price in between I cannot tell. (I live in Rdam as well)

am not really thinking about selling my Gibson :P
at the moment it's my 2nd favorite guitar (the rhoads being the first). It plays light, doesnt weigh much, has a string-thru bridge and has pointy body
havent really made a judgement yet about the sound. cuz I have only played my rhoads the last 3 weeks. Ibanez doesnt have strings at the moment (I am refinishing it a bit), so I can't compare)

It'll be though to part with my Ibanez. after all it's the 2nd electric guitar I have ever own, and I have it since I turned 16 and am 22 now.

....hm....... anyone want to buy a Charvel 475DLX for lets say 500-700€? hehe
that would ease the red numbers on my bank account :P

BWAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHA!!!

Dude.. DON'T sell the Saber man.. Seems that the guitar has sentimental value so DO NOT sell it! Keep it and cherish it...

I have decided to stick with it for the moment, unless perhaps someone comes and gives me 700 euros for it :P

I just hope I survive this winter, I still have to pay for the Jackson I bought (I plan to do that in January, but don't think I have much €€€ after that to cover my other needs (food, beer, books for study)).
