"Cheese" factor?

Let me first say no offense to anyone who has already done this, and sorry if it's been addressed before.

BUT....

I own an RG model (will hopefully add to the collection as time goes on), and was thinking, "Is it too cheesy to put f-holes (decals or paint) on an RG, ala Paul Gilbert?"

Being a fan of his, and liking the look of the classic "f-holes" on a "modern" styled instrument, the thought has crossed my mind. Not to try to pass off the instrument as a PGM or anything, just to give it a fresh look.

Any thoughts?

Being a big fan of all things cheesy I've got to admit that I too have been looking at doing this to my old RG550 for a laugh.

I guess you're looking at the same stickers on the 'bay as me

It will look bad because of the knobs placement.

Re: "Cheese" factor?

I've sold them to people in the past thru the old PGMSite that have put them on RGs, although the only one I ever saw a pic of was Eddie's from EKG. I thought it looked pretty good, although he did have to deal with the knobs.

Re: "Cheese" factor?

What color are you looking for? I know I still have some black, and should have some white and cream, and possibly a set of chrome, too. I was selling them for $8 mailed on PGMSite last year, but I'd have to charge $10 for the chromy - if I have it. If you're interested, shoot me a PM.

Thanks. This is just an idea I'm throwing around (not too seriously though). I will give you a shout if I choose to go that way...
