Colour opinions
So I own this RG
Its a unique colour. Planet Green as I understand it, and have only ever seen one other. It was my first
Ibanez
and I love the neck. However I've never been a fan of the colour i'll be honest.
Now I've got Duncans to go in it, and I have some new CTS pots to replace the scratchy old ones and I the horrible single locking LFR won't stay in tune very well. So I thought I might go the whole hog and re-paint it. A buddy of mine is into respraying Alloy wheels and spoilers etc in an outhouse he has and said we should be able to do it pretty painlessly.
My question is this. As its a rare ish colour should I leave it as is? it has a knock on the bottom but apart from that its in ok nick. Not interested in any other colours really, either keep it green or go black. What does everyone think??

Re: Colur opinions
Keep it as it is!!! I love that colour. Put the Duncans in it and fire on some Purple Bobbin Toppers and it'll be totally killer looking. Everybody's got black guitars so it's nice to be different.

Re: Colur opinions
Black should not even be an option. There are so many black guitars in the world that it should be a crime punishable by death to re-paint a guitar that has color & make it black.
Leave it green, and/or trade it for a boring black guitar & leave it for a guitarist that appreciates color.

How about painting the headstock to match, that would be pretty cool!!

That's an awesome color. You'll regret it someday if you paint it.

Re: Colur opinions
green guitars rule, so change the pickup and knob colors.
I would also go with a cosmo scheme for the trem/tuners/
locking nut/etc...

Re: Colur opinions
While I don't agree with purple and pink pickups and knobs and so on (really it's over the top it never looked good), that color is killer. I'd love to have the same guitar.

Yeah a green headstock would be awesome. Chrome hardware (and pickup rings) would be great too. Something like this:
If you still want to do some painting, add a small sunburst:

I like the sunburst idea.
Why choose between green and black when you can have both?

Re: Colur opinions
Switch the body with someone who has a black RG body. It looks Korean. RG370? I'm sure someone has a black body for you that's factory finished you can swap straight-up. For an RG with that sweet color, who knows... they might even spring for shipping too.

Re: Colur opinions
Its a Korean
RG270
. Rare so I understand. Most had rosewood necks. I'm gonna keep it and fit another duncan, or EMG's and its getting black strat knobs. Ordered New trem posts and will get a new trem and matching Tuners I think. Though There is nowt wrong with the tuners as they are! What sort of Trem would be best? I don't know as much as I should about the Edge, TRS's etc?
And I like that Black/green burst!! I may use that on a strat project I have on the go!!
