crackly pots

Got a problem with my volume pot on my RG321. Whenever I turn down the volume it crackles, and when i turn it back up again it crackles and cuts out and i have to keep fiddling until it stops crackling and cutting out.

Anyone know a good way of solving the problem without having to replace it?

Re: crackly pots

Go to Radio shack, buy some pot cleaner, and give the pot a shot of it, fro, the back of the pot (there should be a small opening), work the cleaner in, by moving the pot, back and forth. It may take a few tries. If that doesn't work, replace it.
